Kelly Holden Elected To CancerFree KIDS Board

September 23, 2020 Nancy Spivey

DBL Law partner Kelly Holden has been elected to the Board of Trustees for CancerFree KIDS.

The mission of CancerFree KIDS is to eradicate cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding promising research that might otherwise go unfunded.  Based in Loveland, Ohio, the organization was founded by Ellen and Sam Flannery after their baby daughter was diagnosed with cancer at 5 months old.

Kelly Holden chairs DBL Law’s Employment & Labor practice group which advises private and public employers on employment law compliance and provides in-house training on such issues.  She assists clients in drafting employment and non-compete agreements, as well as employee policies. Kelly conducts harassment investigations, I-9 compliance audits, and litigates cases in federal and state courts. She has experience working with the EEOC, DOL, DOJ, Kentucky Commission on Human Rights, Kentucky Labor Cabinet and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.

Kelly has served on numerous nonprofit boards in her career and has a particular passion for cancer related organizations.  Her husband Nick died in 2013 at age 46 after a battle with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia which was caused by his treatment in 1996 for Hodgkin’s Disease.
