Boone County Appears Poised To Create A Code Enforcement Board

Businesses and residents in Boone County should be aware that the Boone County Fiscal Court appears likely to pass an ordinance creating a code enforcement board in 2016.  The Board would be in charge of issuing fines related to violations of the Boone County code of zoning ordinances and it would have authority to hear and decide any appeals related thereto.

The creation of a code enforcement board could result in increased regulation over the appearance and maintenance of properties in unincorporated Boone County.  However, before the Board comes into existence, an ordinance creating the Board still needs to be passed by the Fiscal Court.  You can read a copy of the proposed ordinance here: https://www.boonecountyky.org/document_center/FiscalCourt/Code_Enforcement_Ordinance_rev_11_6_15_FINAL_DRAFT_COPY.pdf

If you or your business are subject to a notice, citation, and/or fine by a code enforcement board in Boone County or elsewhere, it is important to contact a legal professional with the relevant expertise.
