Nick Herweh is an associate attorney at DBL, practicing within the firm’s Estate Planning and Probate, Real Estate, and Business groups. He is licensed to practice law in Ohio, Kentucky, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Ohio as well as the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.

Nick’s practice centers on estate planning, estate and trust administration, fiduciary litigation, estate and inheritance tax planning, as well related real estate matters. He also advises clients on small business succession planning. His estate planning work includes drafting wills, living wills, powers of attorney, and a wide range of trusts based on a client’s needs – from a federally taxable estate to a non-federally taxable estate. Nick also represents clients in other probate related matters such as guardianships, and legal name changes.

Nick earned his B.S. in International Studies from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with minors in Chinese and German. While at Miami, he was a member of the Chi Psi fraternity and served as Alumni Chair. He went on to attend the University of Toledo College of Law, where he received the Dean’s Full-Tuition Merit Scholarship. During law school, he served as President of the Business Law Society, Secretary of Delta Theta Phi, and competed in Moot Court. He also worked in the Toledo Tax Controversy Clinic, managing clients’ disputes with the IRS and representing taxpayers in audits, appeals, and collection matters.

He is active in his community and is a board member of the FIRE Foundation and a member of Pro Seniors. A proud Cincinnati native, Nick is a Moeller High School alumnus and a Miami Merger. He lives in Cincinnati with his wife, their two children, and their Bernedoodle.
