Russ Mock brings nearly three decades of experience in the legal profession, with a distinguished career spanning judicial service, prosecution, and leadership in the legal community. Having served as both a trial and appellate judge for 17 years, he possesses a deep understanding of the judicial system and an exceptional ability to navigate complex litigation matters. As a former Presiding and Administrative Judge of the First District Court of Appeals and the Hamilton County Municipal Court, he played a pivotal role in shaping court procedures, improving case management, and ensuring fairness in the judicial process. His appellate experience includes serving as a Visiting Judge for the Ohio Supreme Court.
Earlier in his career, Russ served as a Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, where he led a team of 17 attorneys. In this role, he prosecuted thousands of criminal cases and mentored junior attorneys while implementing training programs to improve case management and trial preparation. His prosecutorial experience extends to both felony and municipal divisions, giving him comprehensive insight into the criminal justice system.
Today, Russ applies that depth of experience to a broad range of litigation matters, including probate litigation. He is currently involved in multiple high-value cases in Probate Court, further strengthening his ability to advise clients in complex disputes involving estates, fiduciary issues, and related litigation.
Russ’s commitment to public service continues through several important appointments. He serves as the Mayor’s Court Magistrate for both the Village of Amberley and the City of Loveland, where he presides over mayor’s court proceedings. He also serves as a panel attorney for the Hamilton County Probate Court’s Mental Health Docket. These appointments reflect his continued dedication to ensuring access to justice and serving the citizens of Hamilton County.
Russ also remains active in civic, legal, and public affairs. He previously served as Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party, where he worked with elected officials, community leaders, and party members to advance local governance and support judicial and public policy initiatives. He continues to be politically active as a member of Central Committee and remains engaged in issues affecting the legal profession, public policy, and the administration of justice. He is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association and formerly served on the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Commission on Professionalism.
Russ’s commitment to service also extends to mentoring and community engagement. Beyond his professional and civic leadership, Russ is committed to mentoring the next generation of attorneys, having volunteered with the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Mock Trial Competitions and Cincinnati College of Law’s Career Day. His work with organizations like the Talbert House, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati, and Operation Legal Help Ohio reflects his passion for community engagement.
