James A. Dressman III, and Mark D. Guilfoyle , partners in the law firm of DBL Law, were recognized by Cincy Magazine as three of the top lawyers in the tri-state area. These DBL partners are among 205 area attorneys featured in the publication’s “Leading Lawyers” list, compiled from nominations by recipients’ peers.
Dressman is the Managing Partner of Dressman Benzinger LaVelle. In addition to managing the firm, Dressman has an active legal practice. He represents profit and nonprofit entities and individuals in financial transactions, business mergers and asset acquisitions and sales, and real estate acquisitions and development. He provides guidance for entity structuring, reorganization, owner and employee buy/sell arrangements and management and owner successions, with respect to general business and tax matters.
Dressman obtained a law degree from the University of Kentucky in 1977 and is a member of the Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Kentucky Bar Associations as well as being admitted to practice in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit.
Mr. Dressman resides in Edgewood.
Guilfoyle practices extensively in the area of administrative law, guiding clients through the bureaucracies and administrative processes of state and local governments in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He also represents health care providers in administrative matters, and he represents employers in employment and labor relations matters.
Mr. Guilfoyle obtained a law degree from George Washington University in 1983 and is a member of the Northern Kentucky and Kentucky Bar Associations as well as being admitted to practice in U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
