DBL Law announced James A. Dressman, III as the new managing partner at the firm. Dressman has over 35 years of experience representing commercial banks and other businesses in complex financial transactions. He joined the firm in 1977 and is currently the head of the commercial law and banking practice group. He succeeds the firm’s longstanding managing partner Gerald Benzinger.
“DBL Law has always been a practice of excellence, and I am privileged to have seen our firm and our attorneys, including Jim, exemplify this over the years,” said Benzinger. “Jim has long been an integral part of our leadership team. He will serve the firm, our community and our clients well as he continues moving DBL forward.”
“I am honored to take the reins from Gerry who has admirably served our firm” said Dressman. “Building on Gerry’s foundation, we will continue DBL’s mission of providing high quality legal services to our clients and supporting our community.”
Dressman has extensive experience representing entities and individuals in business mergers, asset acquisitions and sales, real estate transactions and development. He provides guidance for entity structuring, reorganization, buy/sell arrangements, and business successions, focusing on business and tax matters. He will continue to actively practice in these areas of the law.
Dressman is involved on many boards and committees throughout Northern Kentucky, including Freestore Foodbank, Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Northern Kentucky Volunteer Lawyers, Inc., among other civic and professional endeavors.
Benzinger will remain active with the firm, supporting DBL Law’s extensive health care practice.
