On February 5, 2013, the Department of Labor released an updated FMLA poster that is required to be posted by March 8, 2013. The updated poster addresses expanded military caregiver leave and clarification of “serious injury or illness” and “serious health condition”, qualifying exigency leave for parental care, and the special leave calculation method for flight crew employees.
The FMLA poster is required for all covered employers, which means those with 50 or more employees. Public agencies and public and private elementary and secondary schools are also covered regardless of the number of employees.
