Local arts organizations featured in summer-long Sunday series DBL Law has announced its sponsorship of DBL Law Presents OTR Performs, a Sunday evening arts series to run from June through August in Cincinnati’s Washington Park. Now entering its second year, the free series showcases Cincinnati’s rich performing arts organizations ranging from the Cincinnati Opera to Shakespeare in the Park in casual family-friendly events. The series is produced by the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC).
DBL Managing Partner James A. Dressman III called the sponsorship an investment in the Downtown/Over-the-Rhine community. “We’re a Cincinnati law firm and our clients and associates don’t just work downtown, they live here and they raise their families in the city,” Dressman said. “OTR Performs will not only provide a rich family experience for the community, it’s a great chance to showcase some of the finest performing arts groups in the world and most of them are from here in Cincinnati.”
Stephen G. Leeper, 3CDC’s president and CEO, said this type of partnership is essential to the continued revitalization of downtown and Over-the-Rhine. “When Cincinnati companies and firms like DBL Law make a commitment to our civic spaces it’s a win-win for everyone,” Leeper said. “Great civic spaces, programmed with free quality entertainment for residents and visitors, are what make a city unique and memorable. DBL Law can be proud of its support for Washington Park.”
DBL Law Presents OTR Performs kicks off the 2014 season on Sunday June 1 with performances from the Hip Hop Youth Center’s Elementz together with the Cincinnati Boychoir. The series takes a more classical turn on June 8 as the Cincinnati Opera takes the stage with popular favorites from its repertoire performed by featured soloists from the 2014 season. The company will be accompanied by members of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
