CMS is creating a database of information on Medicare beneficiaries who receive treatment from providers participating in an ACO. According to CMS, the information will be used to “support the regulatory, reimbursement and policy functions of a shared savings program and to combat fraud, waste and abuse in certain health benefit programs.”
