DBL Law is pleased to announce that Carol J. Ney has joined the firm as head of its Intellectual Property practice group. She will be based in the firm’s downtown Cincinnati office.
Ney has extensive experience assisting clients with IP matters. Although she is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, her practice has been focused in the trademarks and licensing areas of IP. In addition to trademark clearance, prosecution and maintenance, she develops attorney and paralegal trademark training programs, and counsels marketing departments in all areas of IP (trademark, copyright and patent), employee non-compete agreement enforcement and trade secret enforcement.
Prior to joining DBL Law, Ney managed her own practice serving the function of in-house IP counsel for a large international company. Prior to that she was Senior Counsel-Trademarks for 13 years with The Procter & Gamble Company, where she was responsible for over 70% of the company’s domestic trademark portfolio.
James A. Dressman III, DBL Law Managing Partner, said, “We’re very glad to have Carol join the DBL Law team. Her experience and knowledge will help us build our Intellectual Property and Technology practices, and expand our ability to serve clients in this important and growing area.”
Ney is active in the Cincinnati community, currently serving as Director and an Officer for Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled (LADD), a volunteer and supporter of the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati (DSAGC), as well as being an active supporter of Starfire, Inc. and Starfire University.
