Katie Tranter is an associate attorney practicing primarily in the areas of employment law and civil litigation. She joined Dressman Benzinger LaVelle as a Summer Associate in May of 2011 and is based in the firm’s downtown Cincinnati office. Katie obtained her law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2012. Katie has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing from Boston College. During law school, Katie was an Associate Member of the Law Review and was named to the Dean’s Honors List.
Katie represents employers in all facets of employment law, and has experience guiding clients through issues that arise in the workplace. Her practice includes advising clients on compliance with various employment laws and regulations, and providing in-house training on such issues. She also has experience drafting employee policies and procedures, and employment-related agreements. Katie has handled matters involving the EEOC, DOL, Kentucky Labor Cabinet, and Ohio Civil Rights Commission. She litigates cases in federal and state court.
Katie has been featured on WVXU and the Northern Kentucky Spotlight podcast as a subject matter expert, discussing legal updates relating to the Kentucky Pregnant Workers Act and employer representation in unemployment appeals hearings.
Katie is a current Board Member of the Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky. She also serves as a member of the Governance Committee of Girls on the Run of Greater Cincinnati. Katie resides with her family in Mt. Lookout.
