Gerald E. Benzinger is the Managing Partner of Deters, Benzinger & LaVelle, P.S.C.  He heads the firm's medical negligence defense section, representing multiple hospitals and physician groups.  He has handled the defense of hundreds of medical negliglence claims and advised health care providers on all aspects of their operations.

In 1978 he became a Diplomat of the Court of Practice Institute.  He has been listed for 10 consecutive years in Best Lawyers in America in the field of health care law.  He was a founding member of the Northern Kentucky Estate Plan Council and has been engaged in the area of estate planning for 35 years.

Gerald is a Trustee of the Catholic Men's Fellowship of Greater Cincinnati; Director and President of Trinity World Missions, Inc.; Director and Vice President of Malia's C.O.R.D. Foundation, Inc.

Gerald resides in Edgewood, Kentucky, with his wife of 37 years, Linda Metz Benzinger.  He has 6 grown children and 15 grandchildren.  He is a 4-year survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.  His other interests include golf, racquetball, fly fishing and gardening.  His favorite golf memory is shooting a best ever 79 at Hickory Sticks Golf Course three days after his first chemotherapy treatment in June, 2002.
