A Tradition Of Excellence – DBL traces its roots to 1955, when Charles H. Deters, two years out of law school, became a partner in the firm of Dressman, Dunn and Deters. When Dressman and Dunn became judges, Deters practiced on his own until teaming with Gerald Benzinger and the late Jack LaVelle. Since that time, the firm has grown and expanded to its present size, adopting the name Dressman Benzinger LaVelle psc in 2008. DBL is the largest Northern Kentucky-based law firm, and one of the larger firms in Greater Cincinnati.
Full Service Includes Personal Service – DBL offers clients the same full scope and sophistication of services as a large law firm, but retains the responsiveness and accessibility of a small firm. Excellence in Citizenship – The firm is actively involved in Kentucky state government and handles a substantial number of regulatory proceedings in Kentucky. Partners Gerald Benzinger and Bob Stevens have been frequently recognized in the book Best Lawyers in America. Partners Dave Kramer and David Burleigh teamed with late partner Kurt Philipps in authoring the leading treatise on Kentucky civil procedure in West’s Kentucky Practice.
