Mathew R. Klein is a partner who heads the firm’s health care law practice. He represents hospitals and health systems, long-term care facilities, and other providers with regard to a wide array of healthcare issues. Matt advises clients throughout Kentucky and the Greater Cincinnati region on joint ventures and other transactional matters, Anti-kickback and Stark law issues, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, physician employment and recruitment, and other issues that impact their operations.
In addition, Matt has extensive experience in administrative law and frequently represents clients before state agencies in matters concerning certificate of need, licensure/certification, and Medicaid reimbursement. Matt has represented the Kentucky Hospital Association and numerous Kentucky hospitals and hospital systems in Medicaid rate appeal cases. These appeals have generated over $100 million in additional Medicaid payments for his clients.
